Abstract
The article employs the bibliometric tool CiteSpace to analyze 2,309 publications on Sino-Russian relations indexed in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure database (CNKI) from 1957 to 2024. The study examines parameters such as publication volume, subject areas, publication platforms, the most prolific authors and institutions, as well as high-frequency keywords, aiming to assess the current state of Chinese research on Sino-Russian relations. The results indicate that, despite significant progress, a number of challenges remain: insufficient collaboration between scholars and research institutions, excessive reliance on borrowed theoretical approaches, weak disciplinary autonomy, and limitations in methodology and thematic scope. Looking ahead, it is necessary to expand methodological tools, increase thematic diversity, adopt interdisciplinary approaches, and synthesize relevant theories to form a unique research paradigm for studying relations between the countries.
